| Standard Quality Control Procedures used by Clarion Research
are as follows: Field
Control
- Written field instructions (supervisor's and
interviewer's) are prepared by Clarion Research. Instructions cover quotas,
schedules, and key issues to note (e.g. unusual skip patterns, pronunciation guides,
pre-lists with which to become familiarized). If the job is done via CATI, detailed
question by question instructions are not prepared
- For WATS studies, a member of the Clarion
Staff verbally briefs the field supervisor at the WATS house. The WATS house
supervisor then briefs the interviewing staff. All interviewers are required to do a
practice interview before conducting actual interviews
- The WATS field supervisor is required to
monitor interviewers as they are conducting interviews
- For particularly complicated methodologies,
video briefings are taped and sent to all fieldwork vendors
- For online surveys, a member of our staff
goes through a questionnaire online everyday that the study is up and running
- Standard 15% validation of outsourced mall and
personal interviews are conducted by an independent vendor
