In-Depth Interviews (IDI's)

Clarion Research offers our clients a full suite of qualitative research services, including one-on-one interviews, also referred to as in-depth interviews or IDI’s.

Often conducted to probe and elicit detailed answers to questions too sensitive to be asked in group settings (e.g., medical problems, financial issues, etc.), IDI’s provide our clients the ability to explore topics in-depth, often using nondirective techniques to uncover hidden feelings or motivations. This type of research offers the ability to probe the participant in order to reveal feelings and motivations that underlie certain behavior. These interviews generally yield great insights because there is no group pressure.

At Clarion, our clients find one-on-ones a useful and valuable qualitative research technique – especially for those hard-to-reach or executive/professional targets.  We offer our clients several approaches to conducting IDI’s:

  • Face-to-face interviews
  • Telephone interviews
  • E-mail based interviews
